I hope this note finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.
I wanted to update you on what’s happening at the bodymind center for thai massage.
In anticipation of Governor Lamonts March 23rd shutdown order, the bodymind center has been closed since March 17th. All classes have been suspended, and all private bodywork sessions are cancelled until further notice.
I have permanently closed my Mansfield location.
My family and I are healthy and well. My wife, Tina (also a massage therapist) is also not able to see clients but is working her magic sharing knowledge, expertise, and decades of experience in essential oils, herbs, and tinctures. Please let me know if you are interested in learning how to become more empowered in your (and your familys) health and wellness. She is doing ZOOM consults with people all over the country.
Our oldest daughter Lucy is on leave for now from her P/T job as a cashier at the local grocery store, and is working to complete her Junior year in High School online. Zoe is doing ok, keeping busy with her online home-schooling, her daily exercises and practices, and her weekly PT treatments. She is scheduled for a consult with the neuro-surgeon in June to confirm recent tests.
This has been an interesting time for me. I have found that maintaining an early morning meditation practice, along with physical labor in nature has been very beneficial for my psycho-spiritual-neuro-musculo-emotional balance (yes, that's a thing even though i just made up).
We were so abruptly stopped - disconnected from the rush and bustle of normal everyday life, where we were running to stay in the same place, skimming along the surface, and rarely calmly "present" in the embodied experience. The abrupt stop was, and remains - a bit of a shock, but it has revealed a deep sweet quiet space now that the noise is gone.
I understand that we are all having our own pandemic shutdown experience. For me, the shutdown has provided a really unique period for reflection and contemplation. Aside from the unknowns, the insecurities, fears, and doubts, this has been precious, productive time; sacred time. This affirmation organically arose as i gazed at the bright clear sky the other day:
i am deeply blessed to be alive and healthy
i am calm. i am at peace. i have everything i need
i am fortunate to have been given this time to practice
I really miss working with my clients and students, and I look forward to getting back to work.
I anticipate opening up for Thai Massage Sessions sometime in the Summer, and will hopefully be able to offer a Thai Massage Class sometime this year. If you have any questions, concerns, or if you want to be one of the first back on the mat, please feel free to text or email me.
In the meantime, stay healthy, happy, and safe. I look forward to seeing you again soon.
In peace,
Rick
